2008 Head Coach Trevor Hawkins

Head Coach Trevor Hawkins is excited to join the YMCA Bears swim team this season. Growing up in Greensboro, he attended Northwest High school, where he lettered in varsity swimming for three years and led the team as captain his senior year. He started swimming at Lawndale in the summer of 2004 and joined the Greensboro Community YMCA swim team the following fall. Before finishing his career at GCY, Trevor qualified to participate at the Short Course and Long Course YMCA National Championshipmeets in both breastroke and butterfly, and competed at the 2007 long course meet.

He currently holds GCY short course team records in the 15-18 200 breast and 200 fly and long course team records in the 50 and 100 breast. In addition to his experience as a National level swimmer, Trevor served as an assistant coach for the Lawndale Swim Club in 2006 and 2007. He is currently attending NC State University working on a degree in physics and applied math and swims for the NCSU club team.
